The Sounds of Quiet

My cable has been out for a couple of days. The guy is supposed to come today to fix it. Yesterday I was just sitting  in the family room on the laptop, reading blogs, facebook, checking out my etsy shops, whatever. And then it hit me how quiet it was.

So I grabbed a cup of tea and listened to how my house sounded quiet. I decided it's pretty noisey for quiet. The furnance goes on and off and I was amazed how long it's on. There was a little drip in my kitchen faucet that I had not noticed until it was quiet. I could hear the clock tick and a small noise from the overhead kitchen ceiling fan.

Birds could be heard through the window. I could even hear the cats walking. There was the faint sound of a plane and I wondered where it was going. I have never heard a plane from inside my house before. It was an interested exercise/observation.

Bahhhhhhhhhhh

Is this mug cute or what.....I love sheep. They are one of my favorite animals to visit at the fair. Especially after they shave them and put them in the spandex jumpsuits (well that's what they remind me of). Anyway this handpainted china mug is available on my Etsy shop. It would be a great gift for Christmas. Here's the listing: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12536499

Here's something crow about!

How about a crow mug? Handpainted china mug.

Cute little "thieving" crow about to pluck a flower out of the flower pot! The Words "Gather at the Farmhouse" on the reverse. Great gift for that primitive collector. Size 3 1/2 inches high - 3 inches diameter

Happy Easter!

I hope all of you are having a Blessed Easter. My plan is to go to Mass this morning early (hence the reason I'm on line at 6:30 in the morning!)

So today's feature is a china painted porcelain mug with a very whimsy Easter Bunny holding a painted egg. She's so foofoo that I imagine that she painted her egg after painting her nails. :) The mug is 3 1/2 inches high and 3 inches in diameter. Dishwasher & microwave safe.

She is available in my Etsy shop for $5.99
