Paint Party Friday

So now I have 2 blog posts to write every Friday...my usual Friday Feature...below and also something new Paint Party Friday. I almost forgot about it. But better late than never! LOL

Here's my first Paint Party Friday post!  It is a pastel ACEO. I love to do pastels but find it more difficult smaller for some reason so I don't do as many of them as ACEO's. But I was very pleased with the way this one turned out. I love lemons and that old saying "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade". I try to do that as much as possible sometimes I am not so successful.

This little piece for some reason when I look at it makes me smile. I hope it does the same for you.
It's available in my etsy shop - Artful Purpose (where art turns to charity) listing: http://www.etsy.com/listing/66688127/pastel-aceo-flowers-and-lemons-original

This is just lovely! Yes it is very difficult to work on pastels in such a small area. I have done it but try not to do it too often. You have done a wonderful job however. :-)

Joann, this is beautiful, I love the look of pastels but was never any good with them. I get more on me than the paper. So glad you joined us.

Great arrangement of beautiful colours. The lemons lift the mood & made my mouth water (strange I know Lol but there it is. The beautiful flowers & blue background offer striking contrasts. I love the overall effect the pastels make. It must be hard to create so much detail in a limited space.

Lemons are like tiny suns...always bright and cheery and full of zest. A real picker upper when I' m sick or in my salad or fish or tea..practically indispensable and never forgotten on my grocery list, in other words, I adore them just as I adore this aceo....lovely work! P.S. :)

A pastel is cozy to treat, of course it´s true that large format is easier, to you has been very good. Greetings

Sweet happy colors beautifully rendered, what's not to love? And, yes, it makes me smile too. I really like the way you had the edges of your composition fade out at the edges of the ACEO.
BTW, I too have trouble working that small- I can never accheive the richness of this- somehow, they always go flat for me. So, I applaud you for this piece of gorgeousness!

Definitely making me smile. Beautiful colors. I love pastels, but have never even attempted anything so small in them. I don't know how you do it, they are so big and chunky!

I find it challenging to paint ACEOs because they are so small, but really they are the easiest way to finish a painting for busy artists! Love this one you've created...vibrant with great composition. Nice meeting you at the Paint Party!
