Opossum
Oh..........possum...........I have one under the addition to my house. You would not believe what I had to go through to get a trap. It seems that the county won't pick the animal up unless the Wildlife Service gives you a furbearing permit. Of course, no answer at the number. I left a message and then called back later and the mail box was full. uuuuuuuuugh The county won't pick up unless you have a permit. Its the chicken and the egg........so frustrated....finally got through today but I have to give the trap back Wed and you can't trap over the weekend........
enough of my frustrations....here's my feature. I was thinking I'm going on the cruise right so why not put Tropical Kitty up. I know she's silly but she's supposed to be. It was for the ACEO bounty challenge on Etsy. You should go and post in the promotions forum. Search for bounty. If you are the last one to post in a 24 hour period you win something like 70 ACEO's...some huge amount of cards....any way, she's available for sale...you know where, my Etsy shop

Cottage Anyone?
Well it's a rainy, rainy day. So dreary. As one of my painting friends reminded me April showers bring May flowers! Hope so....with all this rain, we will get lots of them.
My daughter Jackie and I may open an etsy store...we are an eclectic bunch so hopefully soon we will start a venture - likely jewelry, photography, mosaics...I'm leaving the painting to my etsy shop.
So here's today's feature.
Do you like cottage style? I do. Just love the pink roses and romantic feeling of it. Today's feature is a vanity set. It comes with 2 footed perfume bottles and a lovely tray. The tray has luster (mother of pearl) around the edge. This would be a wonderful Mother's day gift! Available in my Etsy shop for $39.99

Do You Paint?
If so here's something for you. It's for my original design called Summer Memories.
Five pages of complete instructions, list of paints, brushes & other supplies. Also a line drawing and colored photograph.
Available on my Etsy store for $8.99
Paint your own summer memory! :)
I was tagged by Kris......okie dokie why did I choose the name Painted Panache because it sounded kind of uptown and when I started painting I was painting mostly porcelain--things like teapots, serving trays, etc.

Sad day at SJF
After 9 am Mass this morning Father Brian told us he was being moved to be a campus minister at a local Catholic College. Bummer. He's such a great priest. So humble, holy and full of God's joy. I'm going to miss him. I work with the High School Youth Group at Church and I know those kids are going to be devistated. He's really the only priest that's taken an interest in them...all of them.
So I'm feeling kind of blue today. I need to remind myself that it's not the end of the world...so I wondered what I'd feature today....so here it is... LAUGH...because I need it. It is available on my etsy shop for $5.99

Yesterday............
....sounds like a song I once sang.....well actually last night I had the honor of chaperoning 8 kids from the church youth group to a Men In Black Basketball game. The MIB are the priests and the game is against the youth of the area. It's always lots of fun and the focus is vocations, bringing more young people to consider the religious life....Heaven knows we need more priests, nuns, brothers, etc. It was lots of fun. I don't have any kids in the Youth Group but I still volunteer long after my kids have aged out of it. In fact my daugher who is 25 is an adult volunteer to.
Back to the game. This time the priests won. Last time the kids did! We had such a great time. There are 40 in our youth group, just wish more would have gone. It was a blast.
Why did I post this picture???? Well it reminds me of Westminister, Maryland where the game was held. There are lots of farms there. This is a watercolor ACEO on sale in my etsy shop It's $8.99 - free shipping.

Faux Leather Porcelain
...yes can you believe it. I took a workshop on how to make your porcelain look like tooled leather. This picture doesn't do it justice. It's $15 in my Etsy Store
It was so much fun to do. China paints are a powdered paint that is mixed with an oil mixing medium. So with that you add zinc oxide which makes the paint have a matted appearance. Then you outline your design in penwork. Fire it. Then you paint the areas in with the base color. Fire it. Then you go back and with a piece of seranwrap (with the paint thinned down) and do the faux work. Fire it. Next put in shadows. And guess what? Fire it! :) It was fun.

So in rememberance of my Roma trip......

Today was my first day back to work after 2 weeks.....one week in Roma and one in Ocean City at a Decorative Painting Conference. I really didn't want to go to work. I took some fun workshops from some talented artists while at the conference. I did an oil seascape, acrylic portrait on scrapbook paper, acrylic still life on a wood box, and a lighthouse in acrylic on a very large piece of brown paper cut into the shape of a maple leaf and then mounted and framed.....WAY COOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL...I will put up pictures of them this week sometime.
Stop by my shop. I also added a couple new pieces of porcelain.
