This one was done for someone who didn't have a King Charles Spaniel but liked them...I found a photograph of one of these animals online and used it for my study
.This one was done for a friend who's dog had to be put to sleep. She had his ashes in a box and wanted to have his portrait to be mounted on it. I also did one for my cousin. She wanted her cat's portrait put on a porcelain urn into which she wanted to put his ashes. Sure enough I found a porcelain urn and painted it for her but I don't have a photo of that one.
Then just a couple of weeks ago someone wanted me to do a plate of their son's girlfriend's cat. The photo was not very sharp. It was a bit blurred but I did the best I could with it. She seemed to like it alot. So much so that she has asked me to do another one of her cat. So I'm guessing that I will be doing more pet portraits. :)

This is a real talent... I can't for the life of me draw animals so i really admire someone who can... happy ppf
These are wonderful! The husky mix reminds me of our dog, who also was put to sleep this past year. I agree with Tracey -- I'm in awe of anyone who can paint animals.

Wow, you are really great at this. I'm with the others, I really admire anyone who can capture such great expressions and likenesses of animals.
I wish I had this talent! I'd love my GSDs portraits!
What beautiful pet portraits, and on porcelain plates! great idea and lovely work! Happy PPF :)
Cute! I take a lot of photographs, and I've found it very challenging to take good pictures of pets.

These look so real - I want to reach out and touch their fur... Brilliant.
Oh I love them Joann! I miss you guys from the DAWG group.
These are beautiful. I love the idea of the pet's portrait on the urn that holds it's remains.
Thank you for sharing!
Happy PPF!
