Last week I missed the Sunday Sketches. I just wasn't in the blogging mood I guess or got lazy. Whatever. But this week I'm here... Yayyyyyy....This is another sketch from my Sketchbook Project 2011. It's colored pencils.
This is one of my favorites. As you recall, my theme was Make Mine a Double. I love the beach. When my kids were little, I'd take them for early morning beach walks and we'd pick up shells along the way. I always told them the shells were little treasures left for us by God to find.
I remember one morning walk I really wanted to find a whelk shell and I prayed " Lord send me a whelk shell." As I was walking, a wave crashed at my feet and guess what it was a whelk shell like the one on the right! Ask and ye shall receive!
Enjoying my retirement one painting at a time. Interspersing my thoughts with my Handpainted porcelain (painting), decorative painting, glass painting, watercolors, ACEOs, Alcohol Ink Art, colored pencil and acrylics.

Great sketches! Valerie
I really like these! They'd be so lovely framed but I guess you have to send them off with the sketchbook. :)

these are really beautiful shells. well done. I love the welk shells, too. shell collecting is a favorite pastime here at my house in the summer, too!

Ah beaches... don't you just love them! I just showered half a beach out of my hair and off my skin - the only downside, you seem to get sand everywhere!
I want to be on this beach!!! Cold and rainy here...
great job on these two pages - very realistic! Love the detail when you click on it to enlarge.
