Baby It's Cold Outside!

So for a week I was floating on a boat so to speak. My husband and I took an 8 day Caribbean which also stopped in Charleston, SC and Port Canaveral, FL during Thanksgiving week.

It was a little strange to be away on a holiday. There was no kids or grand kids, no getting up early to cook the turkey and worse of all no black Friday sales!

It was nice to get away to the beautiful islands and warm weather. Then I came back to 3 days of rain and cold weather!

The cold inspired this colored pencil piece that is available in my Etsy shop.  I'm hoping it warms up a bit so that I'll be inspired to paint some of the beautiful photos I took while in the Caribbean! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Jamaican Dreams

I was thinking this morning as I was listening to the weather, that I need another Caribbean Cruise!  This cold weather sucks. I'm so tired of it.

My friend Charmaine invited me to go to Key West next month. She goes very year for a month. Last year I went. We had such a good time.  I stayed for almost a week.  This year I turned her down because I was worried about Dad after the stroke. It looks like with all that's happening with him and the congestive heart failure that I probably made a good decision.

But after all this is over I need to go south. In the meantime, I will just keep having my Jamaican Dreams...I painted this little  mixed media ACEO a year or so ago. It's me (okay so I made myself a little skinnier!) having Jamaican dreams....maybe one day soon when life returns to normal and my Dad is in good health I can turn the dreams into reality.

Diver Dan.............

.....my newest watercolor art card (ACEO) in my etsy shop. Well I'm back from my cruise and this seemed the perfect thing to feature today.

I had a wonderful time. The weather was BEAUTIFUL. The caribbean islands were BEAUTIFUL. We had calm seas. It was so relaxing - 9 days....perfect perfect perfect.

You can view the pictures. They are ALL uploaded to my photo website:

Make sure to go to the right side of the screen when you open the album for each island and click on slideshow...it's easier than trying to look at each picture individually.

You can also read about it on my personal website: http://heylucy1.blogspot.com

This diver card reminds me of one of our excursions. We took a partial sub ride. You sit in the lower part of the boat and each person has a window and a seat facing it that you straddle as the vessel goes over the reef. It's so cool. But when you are underwater like that you turn blue because of the lack of sun so that's why the pictures of me and Glenn are blue! There was a diver who rounded up some critters for us to see upclose and personal. Not sure what his name was but Diver Dan seemed right for this watercolor. Actually I did it before I left for the trip.....must have known I'd run into a diver along the way!

A Day in the Past

Facebook reminded me that  8 years ago I was at the coliseum in Rome. The most amazing observation I made was that it was so quiet. People s...
