Paint Party Friday

Available on Etsy.
I'm still playing and painting with that alcohol ink. I'm having such a good time with it. Here is a tile that I did. My friend calls it a cupcake tree...No wonder I love it, it looks like cupcakes. LOL

Well anyway back to the how to part. So I did the background first with the inks letting it do it's thing. Before it dried I dropped a papertowl on it in spots. You can see it on the right side. Of course most was covered up by my painting. Then I did my usually drop by drop until I had the top of the tree as wanted. The trunk was pulled in with spectrim noir alcohol marker. I just love this cupcake tree. It looks good enough to eat!

Something to Look Forward To!

So tonight begins the first of three nights of my church, St. Jane Frances de Chantal's Lenten Mission. This year's theme is

"Back to Basics: Following Christ Today"

Father John J. Lombardi (a.k.a: "Father Jack") is a dynamic speaker. He did the Homily at Mass yesterday.

According to the Parish Bulletin: "Father Jack is the administrator of St. Peter & St. Patrick parishes in Hancock. He is a true outdoorsman and loves to spend his free time in the beautiful waters of the nearby Potomac River, or hiking up the various mountains in the area. Always up for a game of softball or soccer, Father Jack keeps the youth and elders of his parish on their "athletic" toes! He has a great devotion to Our Lady and Our Lord's Divine Mercy."

I am really looking forward to these 3 nights and getting back to basics!

Paint Party Friday

Woo hoo it's Paint Party Friday.....and here's another of my alcohol ink art. This is on yupo paper which I love working with.

It's been such crappy weather I have been longing for summer. Can you tell from my subject?

I haven't gotten it up on Etsy yet...one of these days. Anyway, I just love love love shells and had a good time piling up some of my shells for this still life. I sketched in the shells first, put down the inks in the background and then lifted out the inks in the area of the shells. Then I went back in with a dry brush and did the details. I just love this piece almost as much as my shell collection.
